Agam
&
Aayushi
Two days.
Four ceremonies.
One ridge of pine.
We are getting married in a forest where the clouds arrive on foot and leave by sundown. You are not a guest. You are the weather we want on the mountain.
come light the lanterns with us.
Ring Ceremony
& Sangeet
Rings exchanged under chandeliers; chaos in the best sense. Meet the family, lose your voice to a song you will pretend not to know the words to. Banquet to follow on the same lawn.
Haldi
Carnival
Bright, messy, loud with birds. Carnival drums, turmeric in handfuls, marigolds in piles. We wear white so it stains beautifully — and aunties with intention will see to that.
Sehra Bandhi
& the Baraat
- 2:30 PMSehra BandhiThe Destination, Fagu · Bar Area
- 3:00 PMBaraat departsProcession down to the venue
- 4:00 PMWelcome at AmphitheatreParking Lawn · dhol & petals
A short ritual, then a long walk. The groom is tied into his sehra at the Bar Area, and the baraat moves on foot down the ridge — drum, song, neighbors leaning out — to the welcome at the Amphitheatre, where the family meets us before Pheras.
Jai Mala
& Pheras
Jai Mala first — garlands and held breath. Then seven vows in the last light of the day. We will try not to cry; we will fail. The mountain will hold the moment.
Gala
Dinner
Long tables, low lights, a band that knows when to stop. Come hungry; stay until the stars cross the ridgeline.
A dress code for each hour of the light.
A short guide to what to wear, hour by hour — suggestions, not rules. Come dressed for the mountain; the mountain will do the rest.
